My knitting patterns / Omat neuleohjeeni

I have written three knitting patterns for socks this fall. Two of then are for DK weight yarn and ne is for light aran or worsted. All the patterns are for beginners that have some knitting experience and up. The color changes the pattern to fit any season.

1. It is Christmas soon - pattern (The picture above) is for DK weight yarn.
2. Year round socks (pictures below) are for light aran or worsted sock yarn. Warm and relatively quick to knit.
3. Autumn Mandala socks (picture at the bottom of the page) is for DK weight yarn. The rib is quite lacy, but the sock will stay in place well because of its high enough heel flap and fit instep.

I will finish two more knitting patterns this year and they will be in Ravelry and Etsy as soon as I get some samples knit and tested. The other one if for men The winter forest socks and I am planning to make the sizing for teens as well. It is for DK weight yarn, and there will be variation to the leg as well. The colors are blueberry, light gray and brown.

The other one is a Christmas sock and inspired by Gingerbread decorations. I am planning to make my first open test knitting with this pattern. The sock is a warm knee high winter sock and required worsted or light aran sock yarn. The colors are, of course, gingerbread brown and icing white.

The test knitting is done by the end of November and I am so excited to get the feed back. After that, there's only translation and it is done. Hope you like it.

Writing a pattern for a knee-high sock with lots of color work is a lot harder than I imagined. Also the organizing of test knitting with people I don't already know requires a lot more from the designer than organizing the test knitting with people you already know. But I found it a rewarding task. I think I was a bit more nervous about giving my pattern to people who test knit more often than I do. But all the tips and feed back I got was so valuable. Thank you truly!

I actually need to step up my game and start test knitting for others more. It is an educating experience both ways.

While waiting the test knitting to be ready, I designed one more pattern. The cozy winter sock. It is quite simple and easy sock to knit, but is very wearable - easy to wear with just about anything. You only need three colors - any three colors; light, medium and dark. I used gray.

These I am planning to finish by the end of the year 2025.

One more thing, I want to give back to the community I have gotten so much out of, So I have a free knitting pattern coming up for socks and mitten. Pretty simple and basic Finnish way of knitting mittens and socks I have learned.
