Hiihtohame - Skiing skirt

This knit started from my personal need rather than inspiration. I needed a skiing skirt. Anybody who skiis for hours will notice that it is the front of your thighs that starts to freeze first. Skiing skirt takes care of that problem.

This was a knit that I have tried and failed to make many times. I have started and realized it is too thick or thin or tight, or not flexible enough. But this is a good fir for me.
I found the pattern from a book by Heli Nikula who uses the alias Villahullu (loosely translated wool crazy or crazy about wool). I will put a link to the book and pattern at the bottom of the page.

Well, of course I did not follow the pattern religiously and made several modifications, by the end result looks quite same and can be recognized to be her pattern.
I modified the waist mostly, as I did not want a waist band that thick. This works well for me.
