Vuoden Ympäri -sukat: kevät ja kesä - Year around socks: the spring and summer version PATTERN AVAILABLE SOON ON RAVELRY

 

We have many seasons in northern Finland. It's not just summer, fall/autumn, winter and spring. Early spring (spring winter if translated literally from the Finnish word) is the last part of the winter before spring. There is still snow on the ground, but the sun is shining. You can still go skiing in Lapland, but in the southern part of Finland there is likely to be no snow left. Like this year. It is around Easter time. 

I decided that this will be my first published pattern. I chose it because I know it works and is used by many already. It fits and lasts. It has structure pattern on the leg and a color pattern on the instep. It is easy to modify to many sizes. I have many modifications of the colors done by now. I am familiar with this pattern. This will give me a good opportunity to actually write a knitting pattern in Finnish and English. This is where I will start.
